Rick Ross x Lil Wayne x Birdman – Veteran’s Day

by ILLIONAIRE on February 6, 2010

After listening to this one a couple hundred times, Wayne namedrops “Ross” at the end of his verse and Birdman Birdshit mentions the word “Maybach” a couple times during his verse (doesn’t he always?) which made me come to the conclusion that this may in fact be a preview of the legendary Maybach Music 3 that Rook (of J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League) has been spamming about on Twitter for some time now. I dare you to tell me I’m wrong! EDIT: I’ll take the L. Thanks to Young! for coming through with the full version of “Veteran’s Day” which will appear on Rick Ross’ upcoming Teflon Don LP.

They took like 2 days recording drums, these drums sound pretty stock. Of course unless its a early early reference track.

Two days for three people to record a pretty basic drum pattern? Way to go, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.

two days to record these drums? Rook’s obese ass probably took long recording. he seems a little slow in the head, like the umbilical cord was wrapped too tight around his neck when he was born..

Tell em why you mad, Lbutta!

I’m just saying, I hope this isn’t it, I really expected more if it really is. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this isn’t it. Drums on MM2 were crazy, this can’t be it, it would be a huge downgrade.

Sequels threequels usually suck, though.

I don’t expect Maybach Music 3 to be as epic as they say it will.

I hope we are getting punk’d. I really do. :/ Seems like a big loop.

Aren’t most J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League beats loops, though?

Ok, I’ll stop.

Ty Cody February 6, 2010 at 2:52 am

Yeah, there are loops in every song, but there is a lot of variation throughout the songs, I’m picky as hell with mine to make every verse different.

There is no complexity to this, really just a snare, hats, sample, organ, and some wah-guitars. I hear no live drums in this…. smh

Ty Cody February 6, 2010 at 2:56 am

And I say no complexity compared to the previous MM. Still a nice track regardless.

Well at least everyone can be rest assured that this is NOT Maybach Music 3! I repeat, this is NOT Maybach Music 3. Just like others rightly reasoned, this track is a sample looped with programed drums. Maybach Music 3 is all original with live drums and much much more. This track (which aint bad at all) isn’t even produced by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Hate to see anyone’s shit get leaked, just glad that it isn’t Maybach Music 3 that leaked. Peace

lol @ saying J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League is all original sounds. They play back samples. Nothing they’re doing is really ‘original’.

I February 6, 2010 at 11:22 am

Ill, I’m not saying they don’t replay samples or haven’t done so in the past, All I’m saying is that this isn’t MM3. This I know for a fact.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League does use samples and sometimes they don’t. This goes for some of the hottest producers out (i.e. Just Blaze, DJ Khalil, etc)

There’s nothing new under the sun, so with that reasoning every producer is doing something that has been done before. Look at Dre’s history; initially he started out sampling and chopping loops, this led to him replaying samples which eventually led to where’s he at now.

By an original track I mean a joint containing no samples, this record contains a sample in it. MM3 doesn’t.

I’m not saying nothing bad about samples, they are the conerstone of hiphop music. Peace.

This is actually a track from that Collabo album with Ross and Birdman..

How the hell did this get leaked?

this is meh compared to Maybach Music 2, which had the best instrumental of any rap song ever.
